OSV Institute

Our Sunday Visitor Institute was established to carry on the vision of Archbishop John F. Noll who founded Our Sunday Visitor for one purpose – “To Serve the Church.”  Three times a year, the Institute serves the church by granting philanthropic gifts to agencies, ministries and programs that innovatively spread the Gospel and bear witness in word and deed to the saving power of Christ.  In this way, Bishop Noll’s charitable fervor is kept alive, and the hands and feet of Christ are replicated in ministerial contexts around the globe.

Our Sunday Visitor Institute Advisory Council members study and discuss each application thoroughly, in search of a wide variety of initiatives which reflect the teachings, traditions and mission of the Catholic Church and its leadership, while also reflecting Our Sunday Visitor’s special interests in catechesis, vocations, evangelization or stewardship.  Special attention is given to projects that may be expanded into other parishes and dioceses, not just benefiting the originating organization.  Once the Advisory Council has deliberated, their recommendations are sent to the Our Sunday Board of Directors, who makes the final decision.
